FBI, Arab-American youth bridge cultural gap in East RutherfordPosted: Updated:
? FBI agents reached out to the Arab-American community Saturday in East Rutherford to establish a dialogue.
Arab-American teens and their parents showed up at Giants Stadium to learn first-hand about the FBI. Although the agency says the event was not for recruiting purposes, agents say it is important to interact with the ethnic group. Arab advocates say many young Arab-Americans were afraid of the U.S. government following September 11th, but they are now considering careers in the FBI.
The September 11th Commission criticized the FBI in its findings for having too few Arabs on staff.
