Irvington fire department battles 3-alarm blaze at apartment building

A three-alarm blaze at an Irvington apartment building has been contained by the fire department. Fire officials say 16 families occupied the three-story building at 76 Naden Avenue. They say damage was minimal to the building, but some families have been left temporarily homeless by the fire. Officials say a search of the building turned up no residents. Fire officials say no other buildings in the area are in danger from the blaze and there were no injuries reported. They are investigating the cause of the fire.
