Body of missing woman pulled from Hackensack River
(05/29/06) PALISADES PARK ? Police are trying to piece together the final moments of a woman?s life after her body was found in the Hackensack River Monday.
Investigators say a boater first spotted Dianne Ham?s body in the river. According to police, Ham has been missing since May 12. The woman vanished while on her way home from Legends, a bar near Palisades Park, in the early morning hours. Police believe Ham fell into Wolf Creek while trying to cross the tricky waterway. According to the Palisades Park mayor, it can often be difficult to gauge the creek?s water levels or navigate the area?s rocks.
Investigators think she then floated into the Hackensack River. No immediate signs of assault were present on the body, and Ham was still wearing the same clothes from the night of her disappearance. The medical examiner will conduct an autopsy to determine the cause of death.
