Jersey City mayor allegedly brutalized by Bradley Beach cops
The mayor of Jersey City claims Bradley Beach police roughed him up Saturday while he was trying to be a good Samaritan.
Mayor Jerramiah Healy says he tried to break up a fight outside of a bar. Police arrived at the scene and Healy says an officer started yelling at a woman. Healy says he told the officer the woman was not involved, but police did not want his input. According to Healy, officers then shoved him to the ground, handcuffed him and maced him in both eyes. The mayor?s 55-year-old wife also says she was roughed up when she tried to retrieve her husband's glasses. Healy faces charges of resisting arrest and disorderly conduct.The Bradley Beach police chief issued a statement, in which he said the mayor was arrested because he was interfering with the investigation.
