Kids and adults throughout New Jersey celebrate summer's arrival

(06/21/06) COLTS NECK ? Kids and adults all over New Jersey celebrated the official arrival of summer Wednesday.

Despite the heat and humidity, many residents say summer weather conditions are always better than the freezing cold. Some plan on spending lots of time at the beach. Others say they?ll spend the majority of the season by the side of the pool.

For kids all over the state, summer?s arrival signals days of fun swimming in the pool or running through the sprinkler. The first day of summer is also the longest day of the year.
