Paramus pet owner reunited with kidnapped Yorkie

Posted: Updated:

A Paramus woman was reunited with her Yorkshire Terrier Saturday after the dog?s apparent kidnapper had a change of heart after the Fourth of July theft.

Laurie Rigoliosi says she went into her house to check on her 9-year-old pooch named Polo and noticed the dog had escaped during the fireworks. Rigoliosi says she searched frantically for Polo and saw a black SUV pass by with her dog in the front seat. Rigoliosi says she ran after the vehicle, but the driver wouldn?t stop. The pet owner put on the pressure for Polo?s safe return by posting missing flyers. Police say someone dropped the animal off early Saturday morning at the station.

While Rigoliosi says she?s upset her dog was stolen, she thanks the kidnapper for doing the right thing.
