Elizabeth residents dry out from recent rainfall

The rain receded in Elizabeth after Friday?s severe weather, leaving a wet and muddy mess for homeowners.

Firefighters say they have responded to more than 150 calls to pump out flooded basements and businesses. Firefighters also rescued several people who were stranded in their floating cars Friday, many of which can never be driven again.

Officials say the heavy rain overwhelmed storm drains.
