NJ Republicans vow to slash property taxes

Republicans battling to reign in escalating New Jersey property taxes announced Monday they have formed four committees that will meet this week to discuss tax savings for New Jersey families.
The tax topic is hot in Trenton, where last week Governor Corzine (D-NJ) outlined a blue print for property tax relief and reform. The Republican plan calls for a tax savings goal of $3,000 to $5,000 for each New Jersey family.
When told of the minority party?s plan, Corzine balked then added that it?s a great idea if they think they can do it. He said he doesn?t believe it?s possible and asked where they thought they would get the money.
