Trenton controller suspended amid payroll investigation

Monday. According to Stankiewicz, she was simply told to leave City Hall without any type of explanation. Prosecutors say Stankiewicz and others are being investigated for possibly misusing funds in the payment of department personnel.

Prosecutors assured the public the investigation is strictly internal, and the possible misuse of money will not affect the city?s funding. However, Stankiewicz and her lawyer say the matter should be of concern because there is currently no controller on duty.
