Police swooped into a Trenton neighborhood Wednesday and arrested 11 operators in charge of a sophisticated heroin ring.Police say as many as 120 officers swarmed an area known as ?old city.? The officers raided 18 different apartments, seized $16,000 worth of heroin, $14,000 in cash and five guns. Police say all of the people arrested had ties to the Bloods, a notorious street gang. The arrests cap an eight-month undercover investigation. Officers involved in the raid say it was difficult to catch the suspects because they were moving from apartment to apartment almost on an hourly basis. In recent years, residents say the neighborhood has been beset by drug problems. The situation worsened, they say, when dealers who had escaped a drug raid in another region flooded the area. Police say they will continue to sweep the neighborhood.
