Newark police nab suspect in triple homicide, house fire

Posted: Updated:

(09/12/06) NEWARK ? Police in Newark announced a major break Tuesday in the case of a triple homicide that took place earlier this month.

Investigators arrested and charged 24-year-old John Wessells in the murder of a woman and two teens September 2. Police also announced they are searching for 23-year-old Raheem Clay and another unidentified suspect in connection with the case. Police say the suspects committed the shootings in a house, then torched the home in an effort to cover up the evidence.

Police believe the victims knew their murderers. However, they don?t have a motive for the killings. A $10,000 reward is being offered for information leading to an arrest.
