Burglaries rampant through three New Jersey counties

Police in Essex, Hudson and Bergen counties are sharing information to catch a burglar who has been breaking into homes.

Although authorities have not confirmed they are looking for the same suspect, sources say similarities exist. A Lyndhurst man says his wife had a brush with the thief, who was peeping into their home while trying to break in. Police say the suspect also took a cell phone, cigarettes and $5 from another home on the block.

Many homeowners say they are making sure their doors are locked. Investigators are asking for the public?s help to catch the burglar.
