Possible North Korea nuke test strikes fear into NJ residents

Posted: Updated:

(10/09/06) METUCHEN ? North Korea?s claim that it has successfully conducted a nuclear weapons test has sent shockwaves throughout New Jersey.

Many residents say they are very frightened about the prospect of a nuclear North Korea. The U.S. has condemned the test, if it has in fact happened, but there are still questions about what course of action to take. Many residents feel the U.S. should keep a military option on the table. However, some fear America won?t be able to respond militarily due to the number of troops serving in Iraq.

One scenario that is making people worry even more is the possibility of nuclear weapons falling into the wrong hands. Some residents wonder if North Korea would sell its nuclear technology to terrorist organizations.
