Survey: Shoppers looking to spend more on mom this year

Many shoppers are still picking up chocolate, jewelry and flowers for Mother's Day this Sunday, but how much they spend may be a sign the economy is getting better.

According to the 2011 National Retail Federation Survey, the average person celebrating Mother's Day is expected to spend $140 on gifts, which is $13 more than last year.

Shop owners in Newark say they've noticed a change and that their sales are up.
