Police: Teenage girl abducted by ex-boyfriend in Trenton

Trenton police say they are searching for an ex-boyfriend who allegedly abducted a 15-year-old girl and kept her in an attic for four days without food.

Police say the 15-year-old girl was snatched off the street by 20-year-old Marquis Smith and then held captive.

Officials say the teen fought with her mother and stormed out of her house when she was confronted by Smith on Chambers Street in Trenton.

Authorities say she tried to walk away from Smith, but he cut her off in his car, got out and grabbed her. They say he choked her until she passed out, then took her to an attic, where she was held prisoner.

The girl was held for four days and allegedly endured beatings as well. Police say the girl was able to escape by shimmying down the house when Smith left the residence. The girl ran home and told her mother. Both took the story to police.

People on Chambers Street are too scared to comment on the story, fearing that there are gang ties. Many also didn't know about the incident.
