NJ cops cycling to Washington D.C. for nationwide bike tour

Police officers from around New Jersey and all over the world are riding for a cause this week.

The Police Unity Bike Tour rolled out of Jersey City on Monday afternoon, with more than 1,300 cops making the trip down to Washington, D.C. to honor fellow officers killed in the line of duty. The tour will end tomorrow at the National Law Enforcement Officers Memorial and Museum.

By this morning, the Jersey officers had made their way to Wilmington, Del. and will end the day in Annapolis, Md. "We go through a lot of towns where people are out lining the streets and waving the American flag," New Jersey State Police Lt. Debbie Faiello said. "And it really, really helps, especially when you're getting tired."

The cyclists are expected to cover about 320 miles.
