Parents of child who brought gun to school ask for forgiveness

The family of an 11-year-old boy who allegedly brought an unloaded gun to school are asking for forgiveness and leniency for their son's mistake.

The parents say the boy has been ostracized and that while they have punished their son and he was suspended from school for five days, that he is still a good child who just made a mistake.

The mother is hoping that people understand and put this mistake behind them and move on. Police: Branchburg sixth-grader had gun on bus
