Donald Trump nixes bid for the White House

Donald Trump has announced that he will not seek the Republican nomination for president in 2012.

Donald Trump said Monday he plans on hosting "The Celebrity Apprentice" instead of entering the race for the White House. The reality TV star and businessman made his announcement at a Manhattan hotel after months of flirting with politics.

After the announcement, some New Jersey residents said they could have entertained a Trump presidential campaign. "He's very dynamic with some of the things he was saying and I really had some good hopes about him running for president," Barbara Mezzina, of New Milford, said.

"He got what he wanted, which was a lot of name recognition," Brian Campbell, of Woodbridge, said. "But I do think that he brought some interesting perspective to the debate."
