More than 100 Trenton police officers may receive pink slips

Potential police layoffs in Trenton are part of the budget year that starts in June.

According to Trenton Mayor Tony Mack, Trenton can't afford to keep all of its police officers.

To keep boots on the ground, Mack says older officers on desk patrol will hit the streets, officers who may not have patrolled in years.

Union leaders aren't happy and say department-wise, that's like robbing Peter to pay Paul.

Mack says the layoff notices will go out to the 111 police officers sometime next week.
