New details emerge in death of Irvington child

Investigators in Essex County are uncovering new details surrounding the life of an 8-year-old girl who was found dead on Sunday.

The little girl's name was Christiana Glenn, but authorities say her mother, 30-year-old Venette Ovilde, sometimes used another last name for herself and her children.

The name is spelled Rezireksyon, but phonetically it can be pronounced "resurrection."

On Monday, Acting Essex County Prosecutor Carolyn Murray acknowledged that Ovilde's religious beliefs are part of the investigation, but declined to go into detail.

According to neighbors living near 706 Chancellor Ave., where the girl was found, they could often hear loud chanting coming from the apartment and that it was loud enough to be heard from the street.
