Jersey City school renamed for fallen police officer

A school in Jersey City has been renamed in honor of a local hero and former student killed in the line of duty.

The school, formerly called School 23, will now take the name of Detective Marc DiNardo. He attended the school when it was known as School 17.

Officer DiNardo died after he was shot in the face during a shootout with two suspects in July 2009.
