Man accused in 2 Jersey City rape cases to be arraigned today

The man accused of two rape attacks in Jersey City is scheduled to be arraigned today.

Police used surveillance video to identify and arrest the suspect after he allegedly raped a woman last weekend in McGinley Square. They say a 25-year-old woman was raped and beaten near Bergen and Fairmount avenues at around 1:30 a.m. Sunday

The Hudson County Prosecutor's Office says the attack follows the rape and beating of a 34-year-old woman on March 23. Both women described their attacker as a physically fit black man, about 5'7" and around 30 years old.

The prosecutor's office says the man will be charged in connection to both assaults.
