Upper Freehold moves to block marijuana farm
The Upper Freehold Township Committee held a meeting tonight to discuss the controversial proposal to build a marijuana farm in the area.
The committee introduced an ordinance at the meeting that would bar the opening of any business that violates federal law. If passed, the ordinance would effectively kill the chances for the proposed marijuana farm on Rues Road.
The committee did not vote on the ordinance tonight but most of the residents who attended the meeting say they would support the measure.
The public hearing on the ordinance will take place on Dec. 15, although the hearing's location has not yet been determined.
