Despite player controversy, Wayne Hills takes home championship

At Metlife Stadium this evening, Wayne Hills and Old Tappan met on the gridiron to play for the football championship, but all the plays were overshadowed by a controversy surrounding nine Wayne Hills players and their suspension from the team.

Nine players were suspended for allegedly assaulting two players from another team in October at an off-campus party.

The suspension issue was finally settled when the state stepped in and allowed the suspension from the team to occur.

Some fans in attendance agreed with the suspension while others said that the controversy would rob Old Tappan of their glory of even getting into the game, no matter who won.

Despite the loss of nine players, Wayne Hills defeated Old Tappan 15-12.
