Linden police have arrested a man who allegedly stole and then sold a woman's wedding ring.
Detectives tell News 12 New Jersey that the woman accidentally left the ring on the counter at a Dunkin' Donuts in November. After an investigation that included reviewing surveillance video, police arrested John Didolce, 58, of Rahway.
Didolce admitted that he stole the ring, officials say. He says he sold it to Kennedy Jewelers in Rahway. By the time police reached the jewelry store, the ring had already been melted down. Police remind everyone to be extra careful with personal property.
