Trenton families grieve following 6 shootings in 1 week

The Christmas holiday season has been a violent one in New Jersey's capital city.

Six people were shot in Trenton, four of them fatally, in less than one week in Trenton.

Friends and family of 21-year-old Jerel Grimsley, who was murdered last week, say there isn't enough being done to keep Trenton's streets safe.

ShotSpotting microphones were installed in high crime areas throughout the city, but police say they are prone to false alarms.

The department says the company that developed the technology is working on the problem and it should mean less wasted effort from an already stretched-thin police force.

At a news conference today, Trenton Mayor Tony Mack lashed out at his critics and called out residents who don't help police.
