3-year-old hospitalized after apparent pit bull attack

A 3-year-old was taken to the hospital yesterday after her parents say she was attacked by their neighbor's pit bull.

The dog apparently jumped through two fences to attack the toddler on Millstream Road in Plumsted.

The young girl was flown to the trauma unit at Jersey Shore Medical Center with puncture wounds to her head and back. She's expected to make a full recovery.

The dog was taken to the Jackson Township Animal Shelter where it is expected to be euthanized after 10 days.
