ESSEX COUNTY 12/31Montclair ? Music and entertainment for the whole family. Events begin as early as 5 p.m. For a full list of events visit: firstnightmontclair.org. Tickets are $5 for kids ages 3 to 17; and $15 for adults ($20 at the door Dec. 31). Tickets are available at the Montclair Township Municipal Building, 205 Claremont Ave., Montclair, through Dec. 30. Maplewood/South Orange ? From 4:30 to 10 p.m. Face painting and tattoos for kids as well as Karate lessons and a visit from Doug The Amazing Balloon Sculptor. Morristown ? First Night Morris County features more than 400 artists in over 80 performances, ranging from dance and comedy to music and children's performers. The event has showcased rock and roll, classical, blues, jazz, opera, and choral music, to name just a few, and attendees return year after year to see both their favorite returning performers and others for the first time. First Night performances take place in venues within walking distance of the Morristown Green, including The Community Theatre, Morristown High School, county administration buildings and numerous places of worship in the immediate area. The event takes place rain, snow or shine, and free parking and shuttle transportation are available. First Night Morris County also features two fireworks celebrations to welcome the New Year. Seaside Heights ? First Night Ocean County in Seaside Heights, sponsored by Coca-Cola and the Lakewood BlueClaws. Tickets are on sale at the County Connection in the Ocean County Mall, as well as in each participating arcade along the Boardwalk. Bracelets are $5 each. There will be free carousel rides and entries into a drawing for an adult gift basket and a children's gift basket both valued at over $250. The winning passport will be drawn at 5 p.m. and the winner does not have to be present in order to win. After the drawing, the night will come to an end with a spectacular fireworks display at 5 p.m. which can be viewed from everywhere on the Boardwalk.
