4-alarm fire destroys Elizabeth home

Seven people escaped a four-alarm house fire in Elizabeth this morning.

Roshelle Watson says she received a phone call from her mother at around 6 a.m. saying the Rebecca Place home was ablaze.

Watson tells News 12 New Jersey her family escaped the blaze unharmed. She says her sister went back into the burning home to rescue two children who were still inside.

Watson says the home was completely destroyed. She says her family will stay at a local relief center.

Several fire trucks were called to the scene to help extinguish the blaze. Two nearby homes were also damaged in the fire.
