Judge: Paterson teacher should lose job over Facebook

The Paterson teacher who posted a comment about her students on Facebook could lose her job, according to a judge's ruling.

Jennifer O'Brien, a first-grade teacher at P.S. 21, posted the comment in March and it was forwarded to some parents. O'Brien has testified she wrote the comment after students disrupted her lessons and one allegedly hit her.

Now, a judge has ruled O'Brien should lose her tenured job. The state education commissioner has 45 days to accept, reject or modify the ruling.

O'Brien's lawyer says they will appeal the ruling.
