Governor Christie calls for civil service reforms
Gov. Chris Christie (R-N.J.) said the state needs civil service reform during his speech at the New Jersey League of Municipalities conference.
Christie said without the reform, mayors will not be able to "manage municipalities in a way that maximizes benefits taxpayers and services."Christie also spoke about jobs, as well as preventing public workers from cashing in their sick time and encouraging cities share services.
The Legislature gets back to work Monday, with a full slate of Assembly and Senate committee hearings. The session ends the first week of January.
