Bus companies now threaten no service on Thanksgiving
There are still some ruffled feathers in Lakewood tonight over bus drivers having to work on Thanksgiving. The Lakewood School District says one bus company refuses to service the private schools that service Orthodox Jewish students that are open on Thanksgiving Day. The district says two other companies are threatening to do the same.
A meeting was held today with representatives from the bus company and school officials to try and sort out differences between the two.
Lakewood's school board attorney, Michael Inzelbuch, says he's been receiving phone calls and emails from bus companies. Inzelbuch also says that the contracts require bus service on Thanksgiving. A meeting has been scheduled between the bus companies and school officials on Dec. 20.School bus drivers in Lakewood to work on Thanksgiving
