Medical marijuana meeting canceled due to overcrowding
A large number of people showed up at a meeting in Freehold to voice their opposition to a proposal that would turn a local farm into a facility for growing medical-grade marijuana.
Such a large number of people turned out for the meeting that it was adjourned due to overcrowding. The tiny hall was packed with people upset to learn that preserved farmland on Rues Road is being sold with plans to grow medicinal pot on the premises.
Security is a huge issue for those opposed to the proposed facility. Upper Freehold doesn't have its own police force and relies on state police.
The meeting is rescheduled for Nov. 22, provided officials can find a room large enough to accommodate the crowd.
