Security stepped up at Newark Liberty ahead of Thanksgiving

The Transportation Safety Administration (TSA) is stepping up security ahead of the Thanksgiving holiday.

An unruly passenger forced a London-bound plane to return to the gate last night at Newark Liberty International Airport. The Port Authority said the man would not follow instructions on the Continental flight as the plane was taxiing to take off.

The TSA is also asking airline passengers to double-check what is allowed to be packed in luggage or carry-ons.

The TSA says it collects 8 tons worth of prohibited items each year at Newark Liberty International Airport. The TSA says inexperienced flyers are the most likely to bring banned items.
