Meeting on marijuana farms held tonight; still no decision

Tonight, the Township Committeein Upper Freehold discussed the pros and cons of converting a smallfarm in Manalapan into a medical marijuana-growing facility.A non-profit group called the Breakwater Alternative TreatmentCenter wants to grow pot on the farm. Breakwater is one of six groupschosen by the state to grow and sell marijuana to qualifying patients. No final decision was made tonight on whether or not the non-profitwould be granted a zoning variance to use the farm as a growingfacility.
