Weather Update: Rains poses flooding threat in parts of NJ

Many around New Jersey are hoping Mother Nature doesn't dampen their Thanksgiving holiday celebrations.

Heavy rain moving across the state has prompted a flood warning for Sussex, Warren, Morris, Hunterdon and Somerset counties until later this morning.

News 12 New Jersey Meteorologist James Gregorio says additional rain could cause flooding of small creeks and streams.

A coast flood advisory is posted along the Jersey Shore.

Motorists are urged to allow extra time and not to try to drive through flooded streets.
