Wayne BOE upholds ruling on football player suspensions

The Wayne Board of Education has decided to uphold the school superintendent's decision to suspend the Wayne Hills football players charged with aggravated assault from all extra curricular activities including football.

The nine football players are charged with aggravated assault, stemming from an incident that took place Oct. 29 during a party. The players are accused of beating two teens from rival Wayne Valley High School, leaving one victim unconscious in a roadway.

The school board discussed the issue during a closed session this morning, then held a news conference to announce its decision.
