Police: Father wanted in toddler's murder captured in CA
The man suspected of killing his 2-year-old daughter by tossing her in a creek in Wall Township while she was still strapped in her car seat has been captured in California.
The U.S. Marshal's Office in San Diego confirmed that Arthur Morgan III was arrested yesterday after an intense eight-day manhunt. He's charged with murdering his daughter Tierra Morgan-Glover on November 21st. Her body was found partially submerged in a creek in Shark River Park.
Prosecutors are expected to move quickly to extradite 27-year-old Morgan.
News 12 New Jersey learned yesterday that Tierra's mother, Imani Benton, had been trying to get an order of protection against Morgan. She says now that Morgan has been captured, her daughter hasn't died in vain.
Benton also told News 12 New Jersey that it was very hard to get help when she left Tierra's father, who she says was abusing her.
Benton and her family say they hope that someone can benefit from their misfortune.
