NJ prepares for mass transit halt

(AP) - New Jersey is preparing to come to a haltas rail and bus service stops and Hurricane Irene moves closer.

All NJ Transit rail service and PATH trains will stop at noon onSaturday. Trains originating at terminals before noon will continueto their final destination.

Train service is schedule to remain down on Sunday. Rail service to the Meadowlands Sports Complex is alsosuspended. The Giants and Jets have postponed their preseason gamefrom Saturday to Monday due to the threat of Irene.

Bus and light rail service will stop at 6 p.m. Saturday. The Garden State Parkway remains closed to traffic south of Exit98 in Wall Township. The Atlantic City Expressway and roads intoCape May also remain closed.
