Pompton Lakes deals with post Irene floods

Many flood victims who didn't see floodwaters during the storm, saw water rush in afterward.

Even those in Pompton Lakes that aren't usually affected by flooding saw the water rise in and near their homes. Water started to recede Monday evening. Officials say river water was receding an inch an hour.

Monday was sunny, which helped homeowners begin the restoration and recovery process.
