3 dead, 4 in critical condition following GSP crash

Three teenagers are dead and four others are in critical condition following an accident on the Garden State Parkway this morning, according to New Jersey State Police.

The names of those killed and injured in the crash have been released. Those killed include two brothers Chrystoph Iliopoulos, 13, and Hlias Iliopoulos, 18, as well as their friend Eric Colligan, 15, all of Staten Island.

Those injured in the crash have been identified as Dimitrios Iliopoulos, 54, Stavroula Iliopoulos, 51, Fotiny Iliopoulos, 20, and Vincent Whiteaker, 25, all of Staten Island.

Authorities say a preliminary investigation revealed the 2003 gray Ford Expedition was traveling northbound when the driver lost control and drifted to the right, into the grass median.

They say five of the seven passengers, who were not wearing seatbelts, were ejected onto the center median and the northbound local lanes, killing three of them.

State police say it looks like the family was returning home from Atlantic City.
