Dispute brews over India Independence Day parade in Middlesex Co.

Two rival groups of Indian business owners say they are fighting over who will put on the India Independence Day Parade in Middlesex County come Aug. 14.

The parade draws thousands of spectators to Woodbridge and Edison. The parade marches down Oak Tree Road through both towns. This year, each town issued the parade permit to competing groups.

A lawsuit is expected to be filed Tuesday accusing Edison officials of playing politics to make sure Indian leaders in Edison are in charge of the parade.
