Kids beat the heat in Newark

As temperatures push into the mid-90s, people are trying to keep cool in the Brick City.

Lifeguards at the John F. Kennedy Aquatic Center in Newark say they expect about 400 people at the pool on hot days. Head lifeguard Michael Garrett says 12 lifeguards will be on staff to handle the crowds.

The John F. Kennedy Aquatic Center is located at 211 West Kinney St. The center is open Monday through Friday from 7:30a.m. to 7:30 p.m., Saturdays from 9:30 a.m. to 5:30p.m. and Sunday from 12:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m.
