FAA investigates small plane crash that injured 1 in West Milford

Officials are investigating a small plane crash that injured the pilot at Greenwood Lake Airport in West Milford this afternoon.

The FAA says the crash occurred around 12:40 p.m. when the small plane overshot the runway and flipped over.

The pilot, who was the only person aboard, suffered serious injuries and took hours to extract form the badly damaged aircraft, according to a fire department official.

The FAA and NTSB will continue to investigate the cause of the crash.
