Police: 8th arrest made in brutal Bayonne beating

Police say they've made an eighth arrest today in connection to the brutal beating of a man in Bayonne. Authorities say 18-year-old Derrick Hilton, of Bayonne, had been hiding from police but is now in custody. A seventh arrest was made earlier today. Police say the suspect, a 15-year-old, turned himself in to authorities this morning. He's been charged with rioting and endangering an injured victim.

Investigators are still looking for one more teen linked to the beating. Police say the vicious attack was fueled by underage drinking at a house party that spilled into the street.

Today's arrests come just days after the victim, David Strucinski, opened his eyes and responded to loved ones who were at his bedside for the first time Monday.
