Group of educators create plan to teach kids about 9/11

Teachers in New Jersey are figuring out ways to teach children starting kindergarten about the catastrophic events that took place on Sept. 11, 2001.

Karen Levine and Reba Petraitis are among the New Jersey educators who wrote the plan to teach 9/11.

The curriculum teaches about the attacks and terrorism, with different lessons aimed at each grade level. Teachers say it was designed knowing that parents may have strong feelings about how and what their children are taught.

The team that wrote the curriculum was advised by some relatives of Sept. 11 victims.
