Randolph man arrested in Pa. deaths of dad, stepmother

(AP) - Prosecutors say a man killed his father andstepmother in western Pennsylvania, and then tried to cover up the slayings with a story about a fiery car crash in New Jersey.

Butler County prosecutor Ben Simon says 40-year-old Colin Abbott of Randolph, N.J., was arrested Thursday morning following the discovery of the remains of Kenneth and Celeste Abbott outside their home near Slippery Rock.

Simon says Pennsylvania State Police went to the property after receiving a report that the couple had been killed in a New Jersey car crash early last month. He says police found two piles of charred human remains in the backyard and skeleton parts in a pond.

Simon says Colin Abbott had told family members New Jersey State Police had custody of the couple's remains.
