Hindu group gets green light to sue over being served meat

A group of devout Hindus that says it was served meat has been given the green light to sue the restaurant.

An appellate court has now given the group the right to sue after a judge previously dismissed the case in Superior Court. The restaurant, Moghul Express, acknowledges the mix-up.

According to an earlier court decision, Moghul Express had labeled a tray of samosas as vegetarian, when it in fact contained meat. The group had ordered the pastries to celebrate India Day. The Hindu faith forbids the consumption of non-vegetarian food.

As a settlement, the group wants money to make a voyage to India for a purification ceremony in the Ganges River.
