All-women lifeguard tournament held in Sandy Hook

A lifeguard competition was held in Sandy Hook today for women lifeguards.

Hundreds of participants competed in a series of 10 events, showcasing essential lifeguard and rescue skills.

The most grueling event of the tournament was the "ironwoman," which incorporated running, swimming and paddling back-to-back for 1,500 yards.

The event was also designed to encourage others to consider becoming lifeguards. As part of the tournament, Coca-Cola donated $10,000 to help buy a new lifeguard rescue boat.
