U.S. Dept. of Justice holds town hall in Jersey City

A town hall meeting was held in Jersey City tonight by the U.S. Department of Justice to discuss the September 11th Victim Compensation Fund.

The meeting came on the heels of a federal report from the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA), which found no scientific proof that cancers in 9/11 victims and responders were caused by toxins at Ground Zero.

The results of the study are not sitting well with those that have a stake in the fund. Sheila Birnbaum, the special master in charge of the fund, addressed the issue head-on. Birnbaum says the study isn't the last word on this issue. And explained that there is a scientific advisory panel that's being created to continue looking at the issue.

The government has set up a website where those seeking to file a claim can learn more: September 11th Victim Compensation Fund
